officers say a person climbed a greater than -tale tall Hollywood public art piece and stole a statue of Marilyn Monroe.

The statue depicting Monroe in her iconic pose in a white dress from the 1955 film “The Seven yr Itch” went lacking early Monday from the “four girls of Hollywood” gazebo.

l. A. Councilman Mitch O’Farrell says a witness noticed a person climb the gazebo on the Hollywood walk reputation and saw off the statue.

l. A. Police say investigators have recovered fingerprints from the gazebo.

The gazebo was erected in 1994. It can pay tribute to women in movie, with depictions of Dolores Del Rio, Dorothy Dandridge, Mae West and Anna may Wong making up the shape’s pillars.

Monroe, whose real name became Norma Jeane Mortenson, died in 1962.
