ISLAMABAD: The federal authorities has maintained tax situations for filers and non-filers with reference to earnings on dividend and financial institution bills, national saving schemes, capital profits on securities, dividends in cash and other similar receipts. On the other hand, non-filers of tax could have to pay double in taxes than filers. But, the Finance Act 2019 has used the terms ‘energetic taxpayer’ and ‘non-active taxpayer’ to refer to the two streams. The withholding tax for filers and non-filers earning much less than Rs0.Five million in step with year in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has been levied at 10% and 20% respectively. Then again, tax for AJK citizens earning over Rs0.5 million consistent with 12 months stood at 15% for filers and 30% for non-filers. Country wide financial savings has already contacted the finance ministry on this regard, but, the reaction submitted by the ministry does no longer discriminate tax rates for filers and non-filers.
