– university of Edinburgh has ultimately presented medical degrees to its first girl clinical students after a time span of 150 years.

The group, collectively called the Edinburgh Seven, enrolled to observe medicinal drug on the college of Edinburgh in 1869. However, they were avoided from graduating and qualifying as docs after dealing with prejudice.

The seven girls – Mary Anderson, Emily Bovell, Matilda Chaplin, Helen Evans, Sophia Jex-Blake, Edith Pechey and Isabel Thorne – have been presented medicinal drug levels in a ceremony on the college’s McEwan hall.

The levels had been acquired by way of seven female students of the college on their behalf.
