KARACHI: Mayor of Karachi Wasim Akhtar has said that fast urbanisation in Pakistan poses diverse demanding situations and that they want to be dealt with nowadays, otherwise the state of affairs becomes even extra complicated.
He stated this whilst speakme to a delegation of the United international locations development Programme (UNDP), which known as on him here on Thursday, said a statement.
The mayor said that metropolitan towns have been becoming extra instrumental in transforming populace, economic sports, social and cultural interactions.
“Asia is experiencing urban growth at better fees than usual populace boom and by 2050 urban areas will account for 2 thirds of the full population in Asia.”
The UNDP delegation informed the mayor that the UNDP had installed an urban platform in collaboration with the Metropolitan company of Islamabad.
“The urban platform aimed at generating dialogue and growing possible and green long-time period answers for a number of the maximum urgent demanding situations related to urbanisation.”
